Iced Matcha Latte - drinks recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 tsp ceremonial matcha, sifted
  • 60 ml hot water, not boiling, 80°C
  • 250 ml milk, oat milk recommended
  • 1 tsp honey, optional
  • 1 cup ice

Green Energy

Matcha gives you calm energy without the jitters — it's the caffeine experience that coffee wishes it could deliver. And when it's iced with creamy oat milk? It's genuinely one of the most refreshing drinks on the planet.

How to Make It

Sift the matcha into a bowl (this prevents lumps). Add hot water (NOT boiling — 80°C is perfect). Whisk vigorously in a zigzag motion until frothy with no clumps.

Fill a glass with ice, pour in the milk, then pour the matcha over the top. Watch that beautiful green layer cascade through the milk.

Stir, sweeten if you like, and enjoy.

Tina's Tips

  • Sift the matcha — this single step is the difference between smooth and lumpy
  • Ceremonial grade matcha is sweeter and smoother — worth the investment
  • Oat milk froths and pairs the best with matcha's flavor
  • A bamboo whisk (chasen) is traditional, but a small regular whisk works fine
