Iced Cardamom Rose Latte
Espresso meets cardamom meets a hint of rose in this iced latte that is genuinely unlike anything you have had at a coffee shop.

Ingredients
- 60 ml espresso, double shot, cooled
- 200 ml milk, any kind
- 2 cardamom pods, crushed
- 1 drop rose water, do not add more
- 1 tsp honey, optional
- ice, lots
I got hooked on this flavor combination at a Middle Eastern cafe that made their lattes with cardamom-spiked espresso and a whisper of rose water. It was so good I reverse-engineered it at home.
You brew espresso with crushed cardamom pods, let it cool, pour it over ice with milk, and add just a drop — literally one drop — of rose water. That is it. But the result is floral and exotic and makes your regular iced latte feel boring.
The rose water is the tricky part. Too much and it tastes like perfume. Too little and you miss it. One drop is the sweet spot. You can always add more.
Pro Tips
- Crush cardamom pods and add them to the coffee grounds before brewing. This infuses the espresso itself.
- ONE drop of rose water. Taste. Then decide if you need another. This stuff is powerful.
- Let the espresso cool before pouring over ice. Hot espresso on ice = watered-down sadness.
- Use full-fat milk or oat milk for the best creaminess.
Serving
Pour over a tall glass of ice, add milk slowly so it creates that beautiful layered effect. Stir before drinking. A cardamom pod floating on top for aesthetics.
